Whenever we feel good, our brains naturally produce and release a neurotransmitter called Anandamide. If we take things back to a language level, and we look at the Sanskrit meanings behind the word, we find that ‘Ananda’ means ‘bliss’, which is why in scientific fields the Anandamide neurotransmitter is referred to as the ‘bliss molecule’. 

Anandamide is fragile. It breaks down quickly in the body, which is one of the reasons why an hour of yoga doesn’t leave us feeling good for an entire month. However, research suggests that CBD suppresses the enzyme that destroys Anandamide, which means that the blissful feelings we get from our yoga sessions can be experienced for longer, much longer after the session ends, just by incorporating a little CBD into the routine. Cool, right?

A good place to begin is to first understand the nature of the entourage effect, a theory that defends the idea that the power of CBD is heightened when combined with other cannabinoids.
